Clayton Homes leapfrogged Fleetwood Enterprises and Champion Enterprises with the acquisition of Oakwood Homes to become the #1 maker (by units) of manufactured homes in the US. A Berkshire Hathaway subsidiary, its one- and two-story homes range in price from $20,000 to more than $100,000 for luxury models and range in size from 500 to 2,400 sq. ft.
