The University of Maine System (UMS) consists of seven unique universities and 10 University College regional outreach centers. Though each university has a distinct mission, they all share two overarching goals:

To provide high-quality, accessible and affordable learning opportunities
To undertake and share creativity, innovation and outreach to improve Maine's economy and quality of life

Established in 1968, The University of Maine System today offers a variety of academic settings, each with its own style and attitude, each with its own strengths and ways of learning. In addition to the campuses of our seven public universities and our regional outreach centers, there are 75 local ITV sites that deliver distance-education programs right to you.
