Prodea Systems is the latest entrepreneurial effort of the Ansari family. Prodea Systems was founded by Anousheh, Hamid and Amir Ansari and incorporated in May 2006; however, our solution, technology, and intellectual property incubated for the three years prior. We officially launched our company on September 18, 2006, the historic day Anousheh Ansari launched into space onboard a Russia Soyuz spacecraft. Prodea Systems is headquartered in Dallas with additional offices in Denver, Colorado; and Potomac, Maryland.
Anousheh, Hamid, and Amir Ansari are inventors and proven entrepreneurs with a history of building companies based on industry-changing technologies. They launched several ingenious carrier-grade products through their company, Telecom Technologies, Inc., which successfully merged with Sonus Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: SONS) in 2001.
The Ansari’s family commitment to enabling fundamental change extends beyond the business sphere to include significant social and scientific undertakings. Prodea Systems’ CEO and co-founder, Anousheh Ansari (www.anoushehansari.com) is known around the world for her historic journey into space as the world’s first female private space explorer when she traveled on a Russian Soyuz spacecraft to the International Space Station in September 2006. In addition, the Ansari family launched a bold new era of non-governmental manned spacecraft by providing the title sponsorship for the Ansari X Prize, a $10 million cash prize awarded in 2004 for the first successful private flight into space. With the success of the X Prize competition, the Ansari’s helped launch a new era in private spaceflight.
