Shambaugh and; Son has been in the construction/engineering business for over 80 years. We have offices in Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, Lafayette, and South Bend, IN; Detroit and Kalamazoo, MI; Chicago, IL and Toledo, OH. We have worked in over 40 states and six foreign countries and are geared to travel when the opportunity presents itself. We are currently the largest contractor of our type in Indiana and ranked the third largest specialty contractor in the United States. We specialize in the full range of new and retrofit construction for industrial, commercial, and institutional projects. The scope of our work includes the "self-performance" of eight broad disciplines including mechanical, process, refrigeration, electrical, process controls, water and waste treatment, fire protection and temperature controls. We complete approximately $240 million total volume per year, including projects from $2,000 to $40 million. Nearly 70% of our work is the design/build, negotiated type on a "single-source," turnkey basis. Our organization of approximately 1,500 people is complete in every detail including the professional engineering and technical expertise as well as the solid construction experience and support personnel to "fast-track" projects utilizing the highest skilled work force in our industry. Our in-house MIS and CADD systems are the most advanced and help us to better engineer, estimate, and project manage 2,000 projects per year. Our advanced education and training programs assure our TQM process remains one of continuous improvement. We also offer real time simulation of processes, material handling and facilities as part of our "self-performed" design/build services.
