It has inherited its name Enbridge from its parent company, Enbridge Inc., a Canadian business house that also holds a 16.6 % stake in the firm through one of its group company- Enbridge Energy Company Inc. Since its inception, the day to day affairs and activities of the company are looked after by Enbridge energy Management, which is a U.S. affiliate of Enbridge Inc.
