Butler and Land, Inc. started out as a Partnership in early 1947, consisting of Mr. James J. Butler and Mr. H. L. Land. Both had been with Westinghouse Electric Corp in this area for a number of years, and had extensive experience in the sale and application of electrical equipment to utilities, industrials, petrochemicals, original equipment manufacturers and various distribution channels. The company was incorporated in 1957 in Texas and Mr. Butler was elected President and held that post until retirement in 1973.
