Excerpted from the website: History In July of 1943, C.G. Winkel, Sr. began selling used cars on the corner of Center and Ryland Streets in downtown Reno, Nevada. In 1946, Winkel acquired the Pontiac franchise and began selling new cars. The GMC Truck franchise was added to the dealership in 1958 and, in 1965, WINKEL PONTIAC-GMC moved to its current location on Kietzke Lane. WINKEL PONTIAC-GMC expanded again in 2001 when it acquired the Hummer franchise. read more
