Hello Everyone,
Welcome to our school district, our website, and the 2011-2012 school year! I am beginning my twelfth year as your Superintendent, and I am looking forward to serving your children and our two communities again this year.
As you know, we have a very special place here, because we constantly focus on supporting and educating your children based on their individual needs. Over the past several years, I have presented the following challenge to every one of our staff members: "Every single day, every moment of the day, every child is better off because of his or her interactions with every staff member." This will continue to be our theme.
Please spend some time browsing our user-friendly website. You will discover a lot of information about our school district, each school building, individual staff members, School Board members, and our schedule of events.
Also on our website is the schedule for the School Board monthly meetings and committee meetings. Each Friday afternoon, before a Monday Board or committee meeting, agendas are posted on the website. Minutes are also posted after approval.
Our students continue to demonstrate their academic strength by achieving well above state norms on standardized tests in all areas and at all grade levels. Also, the students continue to increase their community service and demonstrate their compassion and understanding for others.
I commend all of our teaching staff, paraprofessionals, secretaries, custodians, food service personnel, technology staff, administrative team members, and our hundreds of volunteers who work together as a strong, positive, and energetic team to help our students be successful. We have over 400 employees who genuinely care about all of our students and do whatever is necessary to get the job done.
We have something very special going on in the Port Washington-Saukville School District, led by a School Board of nine members who are dedicated to a strong education for every child and who work well together, providing positive leadership and high standards.
Strong character, student achievement and individual success, service to others, and good citizenship will be our focus in 2011-2012. Also, we will expand our partnership with the City of Port Washington and the Village of Saukville to increase "Character Counts Communities", a national initiative to bring all of us together with shared values and a positive, caring future vision for our area.
Finally, we have some wonderful youth in our community who continue to help make the Port Washington-Saukville area a great place to live and raise a family. A recent article in "Forbes" magazine rated Ozaukee County as the second best place to raise a family in the nation. One of the top criteria was the quality of education. We truly have a special place here!
I am proud to be your superintendent, and I look forward to an even more successful 2011-2012 school year. Thank you for your support and your service to our youth.
