At CHBC we believe it is every believer’s responsibility and commitment to God to be:
- INVOLVED in praise and worship and the ongoing ministries of the church
- INTERCEDING and praying for the staff, the church’s ministries, and each other
- INVESTING by giving at least a tenth of our income to God and being good stewards of all with which God has entrusted us.
The vision and strategy of CHBC is to do whatever it takes to reach the lost here in our community, in our city, in our country, and around the world through the various ministries and missions we offer. All our programming is geared towards reaching the lost and maturing those who have come to Christ.
Chilhowee Hills is an elder led church. Our Pastor’s role is that of a general overseer. He is our greatest servant. He is our ruling elder. The staff members are his hands, arms, and feet as he gives direction to serve this great church.
We have an annual business meeting, held at the end of the church year. It is a celebration of all that God has done in our midst during the prior year, and a look ahead at where we believe we are going for the coming year. A report is available to all church members several weeks before the meeting, and all staff and pertinent committee members are available to discuss any questions or concerns any might have before the meeting so that all questions can be answered adequately.
We believe there are three essential functions of the church:
- to exalt the Savior,
- to equip the saints for the work of ministry,
- and to evangelize the unsaved.
We are a family, not an institution; an organism, not an organization. In a family, each person has a role. We would love to help you find a place to serve here at CHBC!
