The Herald Democrat is a morning edition published every day but Saturday. The online version of the Herald Democrat began Jan. 13, 1997 and is updated Monday through Friday by noon. The new online edition launched Dec. 1, 2004. The Herald Democrat was born Sept. 1, 1996 when the Denison Herald and the Sherman Democrat merged. Although the Herald Democrat is young, the parent papers, both members of the Stephens Media Group, had chronicled memories of the Texoma area since 1879 in Sherman and 1889 in Denison. We are located approximately 60 miles north of Dallas, Texas and 10 miles south of Lake Texoma and the Red River. We serve the Sherman-Denison area as well as all of Grayson County and parts of surrounding counties in Texas and Oklahoma (total population 237,400).
