Scot Forge is a 100% employee-owned manufacturer of custom open die and rolled ring forgings. Started as a small hammer shop in Chicago, IL in 1893, Scot Forge has over 100 years of experience, leading the industry as one of the most modern and respected forging companies in the world. Operating with over 1,000,000 square feet of manufacturing space in five plants - over 200 million pounds of forgings are shipped from the company yearly. Seven steam hammers, seven hydraulic open die presses, four ring mills, and one bar planishing mill produce parts that weigh from 1 pound to 80,000 pounds in carbon, alloy, stainless, tool steel, copper, aluminum, nickel, and other ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Shapes that are readily forged include bars (round, square, flat or hex), blanks, rings, hubs, stepdown shafts, hollows, and unusual, contoured shapes achieved by torch cutting and other secondary processing. We also feature Tartan Bars - sound-center, rolled surface round bars - a unique product produced only by Scot Forge. Secondary in-house processing options include saw cutting, rough machining, deep hole boring, heat treating, contour torch cutting and level III destructive and nondestructive testing.
