With its roots as a teaching college, it's fitting that today Montclair State University (MSU) offers the nation's only doctorate in pedagogy (the art and science of teaching). For more than 100 years MSU has provided a comprehensive curriculum for future educators, as well as other students studying a variety of subjects. With an enrollment of nearly 18,000, MSU operates through five schools and colleges -- College of the Arts, College of Education and Human Services, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, College of Science and Mathematics, and the School of Business. MSU is growing quickly, and in recent years the school has spent more than $300 million on new buildings to accommodate that growth.
