Located on the shores of Lake Erie in northwestern Pennsylvania, the Fairview community consists of approximately 10,000 residents. Fairview is only 10 miles west of Erie and is easily accessible by car in less than two hours from Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo.

Fairview offers the safety and security of a small town with the advantages of suburban living. Many of its neighborhoods have associations that provide and coordinate social and cultural activities. Fairview offers year-round recreational opportunities including public and private golf, tennis, snowmobiling, skiing, boating, and some of the best hunting and fishing in Pennsylvania. Fairview residents can also take advantage of Lake Erie’s dazzling sunsets, which have inspired the work of many artists and photographers worldwide.

Light industry and agriculture comprise most of Fairview’s economy. Many of its residents are employed in professional, technical, and administrative occupations, both in Fairview and nearby Erie. Opportunities for higher education are available at Gannon University, Edinboro University, Penn State Erie-The Behrend College, and Mercyhurst College, all within a short commute.

An 85-acre campus houses the entire district’s facilities: a new, state-of-the-art elementary school (K-4), a renovated middle school (5-8), a two-story, climate-controlled high school (9-12), and a centrally located administration building. Our athletic complex includes a football stadium and field house, an all-weather metric track, a baseball complex, sand volleyball courts, soccer fields, practice fields, and a playground. The proximity of the buildings allows interaction among the students and sharing of staff and facilities.

The Fairview School District is a special community. The size of our school district is a strength which enables us to provide a family-like, student-focused atmosphere. Students are valued as individuals throughout their experience in the Fairview schools. We are committed to the development of the whole child from kindergarten through high school graduation. Through the use of technology, partnerships with local businesses, a comprehensive curriculum that includes humanities, sciences, the arts, vocational, special education, and extracurricular activities, we strive to give students a balanced format in which they can reach their full potential. Dedicated teachers, support staff, parents, and community members are committed to challenging and inspiring students to achieve educational excellence.

The district’s superintendent oversees an administrative group that consists of a Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, a Director of Student Support Services, Controller, Director of Facilities and Grounds, High School Principal, Middle School Principal, and Elementary School Principal. This group meets a least twice monthly to discuss issues facing the District. They, with the support of Board committee chairs, develop the meeting agendas and discussion items for the board meetings. A second line of administrators provides additional services to the district, and are supervised by the administrators listed above. That group includes: assistant high school principal, assistant controller, school psychologist, supervisor of transportation, and supervisor of technology. The district has two confidential secretaries.

There are 110 professional full time teachers and 89 support staff members that include: secretaries, cafeteria workers, custodians, maintenance workers, and bus drivers. The district does not outsource services.

Each of the three buildings has a very active parent support group. The PTA works hard at Fairview Elementary School to support the teachers in their efforts to provide programming for the students. At Fairview Middle School, the PSA (Parent Student Association) provides the same support. Fairview High School PATS (Parents Administrators, Teachers, and Students) group does work to provide school spirit and support for that student body.
