CentraState Healthcare System is a private, not-for-profit health organization dedicated to excellence with a focus on a full circle of health and wellness for our community. We're celebrating our 35-year anniversary in 2006, and we're still growing. CentraState Medical Center - an acute-care medical center licensed for 271 beds. On July 1, 2005, the medical center became a teaching hospital in the specialty of family medicine, in conjunction with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. That same year, the medical center was awarded Magnet designation by The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) of the American Nursing Association Applewood Estates - a lifecare retirement community comprising 330 independent-living, assisted-living and skilled-nursing apartments. A $35-million expansion and upgrade is under way at Applewood that includes 70 new units, a new foyer, restaurants, swimming and exercise facilities, and other amenities.
