Portland City Council approves conditional master plan for Reed College

Members of the Eastmoreland Neighborhood Association and representatives of Reed College waged a pitched battle of words at Wednesday's City Council meeting. Neighbors argued at City Hall against elements of Reed's campus master plan, which would turn a residential home into the college's social gathering place for visiting VIPs.
In the end, the neighbors' arguments were for naught, as City Council voted to approve the conditional master plan, with Mayor Tom Potter casting the sole "nay" vote.
