Kerkstra students fill 'Basket of Joy'

EarlyAct students at Kerkstra Elementary School in Oak Forest recently gave to children and teens fighting cancer during a school-sponsored "Basket of Joy" toy drive to benefit the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation. EarlyAct is a school-wide service club in which all students are members. The purpose of EarlyAct is to provide young students with the opportunities to participate in active citizenship in a culturally-diverse democratic society within an interdependent world, school officials said.
